Employee Spotlight - Mike

  1. Position at Pneutech:

    • National Product Development Manager (Brisbane, QLD)

  2. How long have you been working with Pneutech?

    • Just over 15 years.

  3. Why did you choose to pursue a career in your field?

    • The opportunity to work in a different sector every day and be able to see how items are manufactured was always interesting! Seeing incredible equipment used to create products that most public never get to see in operation.

  4. What has been your favourite project to work on at Pneutech?

    • I’ve been fortunate to be involved with many exciting projects over the years, I would say that my favourite three applications have been in the Beverage (Filling machine upgrade), Aluminium and Glass bottle manufacturing sectors. All three of these have been significant projects that I have had the opportunity to work along with a great team of people and achieve really good results. Working with a great projects team makes all the difference and drives the result that little bit further than the initial expectations.

  5. What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

    • Being able to see something new most days, it could be a new manufacturing process, a new product , or just a cool way of doing something differently.
Also, developing great relationships, becoming more than a supplier and a workmate, there really are exceptional people in our global manufacturing sector and its fantastic to be able to regard many of them as friends.

  6. What tips or advice would you give someone starting a new job?

    • Listen to what the customer is asking for. There are also often many ways to get the job done, just get in and give it a proper go.

  7. What is one thing you can’t live without?

    • After family, I would say the sea. I love anything related to the sea, fishing and kayaking being my two favourites, but exploring new beaches is definitely a great way to spend your time and fortunately we have a large enough coastline in this country to keep me busy!

  8. What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?

    • I would love to fly a helicopter. You can get to so many places that you can't any other way, along with the agility and being able to stop, hover and fly backwards just seems like it could be a lot of fun.

  9. How would your best friend describe you?

    • Loud and talkative. A family guy who loves the outdoors and exploring.

  10. If you could pick any superpower, what would it be and why?

    • I think the age old one of being able to fly is still the best for me, you can explore anywhere, see places never before seen and never be stuck in traffic again!
